Summer Thomad is an audio producer and journalist born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and based in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently an Associate Producer for Sony Music Entertainment. Most recently, she was a producer on The DailyThe New York Times' flagship daily news podcast, and a member of the 2023-24 New York Times Newsroom Fellowship class. Before that, she was a producer for various shows at NPR, including Code Switch, Life Kit and All Things Considered. She also spent some time as an assistant editor for The Believer, a literary arts and culture magazine published by McSweeney’s.

Summer holds a degree in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, NPRThe BelieverDesert Companion, and the UNLV Scarlet and Gray Free Press, where she served as the Arts, Entertainment and Culture editor. In her spare time, she is trying out new recipes and thinking about Kermit the Frog.
